Students also get the experimental knowledge of different techniques of level, flow, temperature measurement.

MATLAB & Simulation Lab:

This is a laboratory in which students are required to show their innovativeness and understanding of the subject through software based programming. This laboratory course builds on the lecture course "Power System", “Power Electronics & Drives” and “Control System” which is mandatory for all students of Electrical Engineering.

This laboratory is equipped with 26 numbers of PCs, with licensed software likes MATLAB, and Multi-Sim for simulation. To conduct value added course or video tutorial, facilities like high speed internet connection, LCD Projector and high quality speakers are also available in the laboratory.

Power Electronics & Drives Lab:

Power Electronics is an important area of Electrical Engineering. It broadly deals with controlling the flow of electrical power using electronic switching devices. Power Electronics lab introduces the student to measurement and simulation of important operating characteristics of power electronic circuits and power semiconductor devices. It also provides experience with common components such as motors, batteries, magnetic devices, and power semiconductors.

Electrical Machine Lab:

Electrical Machine-I laboratory is an important laboratory for the Electrical Department that provides support to the students to strengthen the fundamentals of machines. This laboratory not only gratifies the undergraduate students to understand the basic machinery but also provides the foundation to adapt for the advanced concept of the machines. The experiments such as DC motor speed control, construction features of DC motor, to understand the principle of operation of transformer, Short circuit and open circuit testing of transformer, etc. are performed.

Electrical Machine-II provides both the fundamental and advanced information regarding the AC machine. This laboratory not only makes the student familiar with the AC machines but also provides the technical knowledge regarding the analysis of special machines. Electrical Machine-II laboratory is primarily focusing on the three phase machines to understand the various technical concepts of rotating fields and also analyzing the performance characteristics of the three phase machines. Electrical Machine laboratory- II is essential to study and perform various experimental studies and analysis of the three phase electrical machines such as torque slip characteristics of AC machines, load analysis and fault analysis of three phase induction motors, constructional features of three phase induction motor, synchronous motor and three phase alternators.

Basic Electrical Engineering Lab:

The Electrical Engineering laboratory is one of the important labs of the department as it helps the students of all engineering disciplines to perform the experiments based on basic concepts of electrical science. It is well-equipped with several experimental setups packages for real time experiments.

In this lab, the students of all engineering streams are trained on basic concepts of electrical engineering, such as AC to DC conversion, measurement, transformer, verification of basic laws and theorems, use of CRO, DSO, etc. This lab has maximum utilization, handling approximately 150 students per semester.
