The department offers undergraduate program (B. Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering) that cover a wide range of topics, including electronic circuits, digital signal processing, communication theory, electromagnetic theory, microprocessors, and more. Students delve into topics like analog and digital electronics, wireless communication, internet of things (IoT), robotics, fiber optics, and semiconductor devices. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Expert Faculty:

The department boasts a team of experienced faculty members who specialize in various areas such as analog and digital electronics, wireless communication, embedded systems, and photonics. These faculty members are responsible for teaching courses, conducting research, mentoring students and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Research:

Research is a cornerstone of the department's activities. Faculty members, along with students, conduct innovative research projects aimed at advancing the field and addressing real-world challenges. This research encompasses diverse areas such as wireless networking, semiconductor devices, integrated circuit design, antenna technology, and more.

Laboratory Facilities:

The department is equipped with advanced laboratories where students can gain practical experience and conduct experiments. These labs provide hands-on training in designing, simulating, and testing electronic circuits, communication systems, and devices.

  • Basic Electronics Engineering Lab:
  • The electronics workshop is well equipped with dark room and all machines required in the fabrication of PCB to broaden the scope of basic learning. Students learn about characteristics of P-N junction diode, Zener diode. In this laboratory students are also made aware about Rectifier circuits, filter circuits, Clipping circuits, transistors, etc.

  • Electronic Devices Lab:
  • The objective of this lab is to study various electronics component and various the design of various electronics circuits.

  • Digital Electrons Lab:
  • To perform regress experiments with different type of designs and sequential logic circuits, combinational logic circuits, study of digital CROs, realization of truth table using multiplexer.

  • Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab:
  • The objective is to familiarize with the 8085, 8086 microprocessor and 8051 microcontroller- assembling language programming and interfacing with various modules such as 8253/8255, 8259 etc.

  • Integrated Circuit Lab:
  • To understand the basics of linear integrated circuits and available ICs. To understand characteristics of operational amplifier. To apply operational amplifiers in linear and nonlinear applications. To acquire the basic knowledge of special function IC.

  • Signal Processing Lab:
  • The course will introduce the students to solve and simulate problems in the areas of communications and signal processing using MATLAB environment and programming aspects and programming of DSP hardware for real-time signal processing applications.

  • Communication Lab:
  • In this laboratory, our students are trained for constructing the circuits for analog and digital modulations. The concepts of all type of modulation & demodulation, and recent communication techniques are demonstrated using available hardware.

  • Electronics CAD Lab:
  • SPICE is a general-purpose open-source analog electronics circuit simulator. It is a program used in IC and board level design to check the integrity of circuit design and to predict circuit behaviour.

  • Optical fibre & Networking Lab:
  • To provide practical experience in design, testing, and analysis of few electronic devices and circuits used for optical communication engineering.

  • PCB Lab:
  • A PCB lab is a facility where printed circuit boards are designed, fabricated, and assembled. PCBs are the boards that interconnect and mechanically support electronic components in most electronic devices.

  • IOT Lab:
  • An IoT lab is a facility that allows for the design, development, testing and implementation of IoT systems and solutions. IoT refers to the network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software and network connectivity that enables the exchange of data.

Professional Development:

The department often organizes seminars, workshops, and guest lectures by industry experts to supplement academic learning. Additionally, career development resources such as resume workshops, job fairs, and networking events help students transition smoothly into the workforce. Additionally, students may have access to resources for professional development, such as career counseling services and networking events.

Add-on Course:

In addition to AKTU curriculum, the students of BTech. in ECE are imparted Add-on courses on PLC, Automation, Programming in different languages, Embedded System IOT, AI, ML, PSpice etc. to improve their employability.

Employability Skill training:

The department in association with T & P department of the institute has MOU with corporates and academia to conduct employability skills-based training throughout on soft skills, reasoning, aptitude, technical training, coding skills etc.
